THE IMPECCABLE ZULU CULTURAL DANCE CAN BOOST TOURISM AND CULTURE IN SOUTHERN AFRICA: The culture of a people of South Africa πΏπ¦ and Eswatini
The Zulu Cultural Dance provides an opportunity to grow regional tourism, increase trade activities, improve local economies, culture, and corporate adventure in Africa.
It is called the Indlamu dance. It is a Zulu Cultural dance from Southern Africa, synonymous with the Zulu tribe of South Africa and the Eswatini people. The dance is characterised by the dancer lifting one foot over his/her head and bringing it down sharply, landing squarely on the downbeat. Historically, it was performed on numerous occasions, especially when warriors prepared for war or when a harvest was celebrated.
The Zulu Cultural Dance is a cultural event that will continue to build and grow the strong bond between the Zulus of South Africa and Eswatini people. It is believed that this strong bond will increase trade activities too.
The two countries share both historical and cultural ties. According to a World Bank report, over 60% of exports from Eswatini come to South Africa and over 80% of Eswatini’s imports come from South Africa.
Before the pandemic, the Zulu Reed dance event had grown into a popular heritage and tourism attraction with the number of both domestic and international visitors growing year on year. Although this was halted during the Covid-19 lockdown, it is again gathering momentum now in 2024.
