Empowering Minds, Building Futures: SAI Awards Scholarships to Bright Young Minds at the 14th Spelling Leaders Competition

Spell Africa International (SAI), a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), recently honored six exemplary school children with scholarship funds during the 14th edition of the Spelling Leaders Competition. The competition, strategically conducted across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, catered to both primary and secondary school students.

George Boluwatife, hailing from Pavic International School, Lagos, emerged as the primary category winner, with Okorodu Passion and Obichijikelo Bruno securing the First and Second Runner-up positions.

In the secondary category, Alabi Daniella from Greater Tomorrow International College in Ondo State claimed the star prize, while Adebayo Omotayo and Falade Blossom from the same school and Model Secondary School, Ondo, respectively, secured the First and Second Runner-up spots.
Gift Akwejevu, the Founder of SAI, expressed that the competition serves as a platform to reach and sponsor indigent students nationwide. She highlighted the initiative’s purpose, emphasizing the passion to educate underdeveloped societies and prevent their involvement in illicit activities.
The competition featured two categories: basic three to six for the primary category and basic eight to senior secondary (SS) two for the secondary category. The preliminary stage took place in 19 states, leading to the finals at Covenant University, Otta.
Akwejevu encouraged participants, stressing the importance of prioritizing studies, with Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Olujide Adekeye and General Manager Femi Ubong Daniels from Nigerian Info, Cool FM, and Wazobia in attendance.
