The event was organized by SWEEP Foundation Nigeria in collaboration with UNIDO and funded by the European Union.
This year’s forum marked a remarkable departure from the norm. Industry leaders, waste management professionals, climate change advocates, environmental media practitioners, government officials, policy formulators, and circular economy experts converged to engage in high-level discussions on waste streams, waste reduction, and sustainable management strategies, with a strong focus on translating ideas into measurable, actionable outcomes.
By harnessing the insights from these conversations through effective policies, targeted investments, and innovative technologies, Nigeria is well-positioned to build a truly sustainable circular economy that promotes inclusivity, resilience, and long-term growth.

The forum was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including the Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment, Mr. Rotimi Akodu; Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, MD of LAWMA; Dr. Ola Oresanya, Commissioner for the Environment, Ogun State; Professor Chinwe Obuaku-Igwe, Director-General and Special Envoy on Climate Change, Osun State; Mrs. Nwamaka Onyemelukwe, Senior Director for Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability; Mr. Opeyemi Oriniowo, Policy Adviser at the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Lagos; Dr. Femi Idowu Ad1egoke, Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, and several other eminent stakeholders.
